My Story

My early career, started from professional dance training, attending Swindon dance, and then the Laban Centre London (Now known as Trinity Laban).  I loved performance and the freedom to take on another character on stage.

I still hold my passion for performance, and have now nearly 20 years of experience as a Dance Movement  Psychotherapist and working therapeutically with movement and expressive arts.  ​Over the years, I have had the privilege to have worked with many different people. ​ I worked for a registered a charity (Dance Voice Therapy Centre, Bristol) for over 15 years, the centre specialised in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, which was the only one of its kind in the UK. Sadly it closed its doors in 2017. During  this  time, I was employed as a Dance Movement psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, educator and held  a Senior Management position for 2 years.  As an educator, I have taught modules on a Creative Arts Therapy Diploma, National certificate in Dance Movement  and the therapeutic process, and as a lecturer on a MA in Dance Movement psychotherapy training programme in  Bristol (affiliated by Canterbury Christchurch University). I have also worked as a freelance therapist and in private practice.  My clinical experience includes; work in the NHS (St Martins hospital  Bath. Princess of Wales hospital, Bridgend), therapy centres, care homes, Special schools, mainstream schools, Colleges, Day care service, and Prison service (Eastwood Park, South Gloucestershire).  I have experience working with Children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities, including Dementia, Learning and Physical Disability, Brain injury, mental health, Eating Disorders, Addiction Recovery and working with attachment issues and Trauma. ​​​​​​​

Professional Memberships:

I am a registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK). Is a Registered SandStory Therapist and a member of the Association for Sandplay Therapy (AST) and Registered Reiki Practitioner with the UK Reiki Federation. I work under the codes of ethics of these organisations. I have a full and up to date DBS (registered with the updating service).
